The Flat Drag Strip & Class Racing

Gravelrama’s® Flat Drag Strip may be flat and straight but don’t let that fool you. The drag strip is made up of loose pea gravel that is sometimes unpredictable. The race car may hook great and bee line straight down the track one run but may get squirrely the next run. These racer’s race cars are VERY powerful and they let it out on the track. They dance on a fine line of complete control and mayhem every pass. Like I said, don’t let flat and straight fool you. It takes a lot of talent to control these monsters let alone be consistent to win races.

The Bob Black Eliminator Race

The Bob Black Eliminator Race is an event put on in honor of a fellow racer that was killed in a tragic drag race here. Bob Black died in 1995 in a drag race at our 25th Anniversary Race. The IOK 4-Wheelers Club retired his race number which was XB-20 and will no longer ever be used again at the IOK Grounds. Bob Black was a long time racer from Romulus, MI who is dearly missed by the entire racing community. The race is between the winners of all the class races throughout the day. The race is very unique because you may see some of the slowest cars race against some of the fastest cars. Because the race is a bracket style race it gives the slower car a fair chance at beating the faster car. You are sure to see some exciting racing at this race.

Also hosting an invite only SXS/w2w Race!

With every race that passes, the series has gained more and more popularity. If you have not seen it yet then you definitely don’t want to miss this event. They have created a special invite only race specifically for the Gravelrama® 49 weekend. They have one race left for the year after Gravelrama® 49.
