The Big Eliminator Hill Climb

The Big Eliminator Hill Climb has for years intimidated racers with it's towering 4 story tall size and it's marble-like makeup of soft sand and pea gravel. Although from afar it doesn't look that bad, it's pretty scary when you're sitting in the driver seat looking at more sky than ground. That doesn't even include the possibility of going off the side, pulling the front wheels and losing all sight of the ground or even the possibility of going completely airborne off the top of the hill. All of this would probably make the average person refuse to attempt to climb it. That doesn't seem to be the case for our racers as they seem to enjoy putting their vehicles and their skills  to the test year after year to be crowned the winner, in their class, of The Eliminator Hill Climb. These racers must use just the right amount power, wheel speed, momentum, steering input and throttle control to make it safely "Over The Hill". When you put all of these factors together on a steep 4 story tall pea gravel hill you are SURE to see some very exciting moments. If you would like to know more about how the race works please take a look at the Big Eliminator Hill Climb section below.

Big Eliminator Hill Climb

  • The Big Eliminator Hill Climb will begin at 1:00 PM and run until each racer in all classes have had a shot at climbing the hill.
  • Each racer will get ONLY 3 tries to stage their vehicle in each round as they progress through the stages of their class. If the Racer uses all 3 tries then that Racer MUST leave on their 3rd attempt to stage or they are disqualified.
  • ROUND/STAGE 1:
Each racer in each class will start at the first set of stakes at the bottom of the hill and attempt to climb up and over the Big Eliminator Hill.
  • ROUND/STAGE 2:
If more than one Racer in that specific class makes it up and over the hill then they will attempt to start from a more challenging 2nd set of stakes further up the hill where the gravel is even softer.
  • ROUND/STAGE 3:
If more than one Racer in that specific class makes it up and over the hill a 2nd time then a Time Attack Race will ensue.
  • In the Time Attack Run each Racer must race as fast as they can from the STARTING LINE CONE to the FINISH LINE CONE which are placed approximately 50 feet apart.
  • The Racer with the quickest time AND that makes it "Over The Hill" will be crowned the winner of that class.
  • Each Racer MUST pass between the flags at the top of the hill as well as make it down the backside of the hill for their run to count as "Over The Hill". The "OVER THE HILL GROUP" will decide if the Racer's run counts and will put a sticker on the Racer's number board if it does.
  • If a Racer hits the timers, flags on the sides or the flags at the top, then that Racer is disqualified.
  • A Racer's attempt at climbing the hill is finished when their vehicle stops progressively moving towards the top of the hill.
  • Each Racer that makes it "Over The Hill" should return to the bowl for awards or to stage for the next round.
